B&F Specialties has been in the trailer business since 1974. We are proud to say that we manufacture our own trailer bodies and do all the assembly here at our plant in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. We build the Bunkhouse line of camping trailers, the "Original" Bunkhouse, with the quality, warranty, and innovations that the motorcycling public has come to admire and respect. We are the leader in the industry in new and innovative features, which is why we are the most copied trailer in the industry. We are proud of the products that we build here at B&F and feel that you would also be the happy owner of a Bunkhouse after purchasing and using one. We urge you to ask any Bunkhouse owners that you may meet at rallies or campgrounds around the country how they like their Bunkhouse. See for yourself, first hand, from the people that have made us the #1 sought after camper in the industry, about the quality in our trailers, and the excellent warranty record that we have with our Bunkhouse owners. With B&F you deal with the manufacturer of the product you buy, not some manufacturers rep that sells 4, 5, or more products and is just looking to get your hard earned dollars. Reps are concerned about themselves, we know, we've been through that program, and it "doesn't work". If you call us, we won't push you off to the "Plant", we are the "Plant", and we're there for YOU! So if you're looking for a quality product at a fair price, look at B&F Specialties and the "Bunkhouse" line of motorcycle camping trailers. |

The Bunkhouse FactsBunkhouse was the first in the industry to use torsion axles on motorcycle trailers, and has since 1985. Our axles are manufactured by a company who makes axles for such companies as Airstream Travel Trailers and U-Haul Rental Trailers. We are the first motorcycle trailer manufacture to offer electric hydraulic disc brakes for 12 wheels. Our brake system is designed for a lightweight trailer. This is not a surge brake, it is a hydraulic pump system, that is designed to stop the trailer from pushing you.Our frame is a full 3 side perimeter design and our tongue is extra reinforced at all bends. The tongue is bolted to 1/4 brackets welded to the axle beam, this way the pull of the trailer is from the axle not just the frame. This allows us to give you a lower profile trailer with a ball height of 12 to 14. Our trailer is a full 24 cu. ft. of storage, with an additional 4 cu. ft. in the travel cover. Our body is flat across the bottom with tapered walls, wider at the top, for ease of loading. We have, for many years, made available plastic windows, standard in the dressing area. One on each side and one in the front door. All are zippered for opening and closing. Our trailer comes standard with 3 jackstands, all are bolted to the frame and tongue. Understand with a jackstand on the tongue, it makes it easier to level a fully loaded trailer. If desired, we can install 2 additional jackstands to the frame. We do not recommend, while set up in the campsite, taking the trailer wheels of the ground, because that is part of the trailer stability. Bunkhouse has used custom laminated baseboards to support the mattress since the very first units manufactured in 1985. We have a welded frame with a 1 foam board center, pressure laminated on both sides with a luan plastic. The same material used on expensive motor home shower stalls.Bunkhouse has always produced their bodies. we have the experience and know how to produce a strong excellent finished body, with all stress areas supported with biaxial reinforcements. |

Quality, Service, Price Bunkhouse front bows are located on the outside, which makes it easy for one or two people to open and fold. Both front and rear awnings are standard, and are sewn to the main tent. We split our side windows which makes it easier to open or close the window flaps. In addition, you can have privacy around the bed and still have your dressing room side windows open. Bunkhouse trailers come with LED taillights and stoplights as standard equipment for your safety and very low amperage draw on your motorcycle battery and charging system. Some manufacturers claim they are the innovators. In design, we came out with the large changing room, our competitors followed. We came out with front and rear awnings, again our competitors followed. We came out with the plastic windows, the rear service panel for making the bed, and the AC opening standard, again the Bunkhouse was copied. We are the leaders in the industry and will continue to give our customers the best in quality, design, and service. talk to anyone who owns a bunkhouse, they will tell you, world class trailers, for world class people. |

Brakes - Reliable and Safe In the past, B&F Specialties has offered "Electric" brakes for our trailers. Some time ago, the manufacturer of the brake units issued an "Alert Letter" stating they do not recommend using brakes on a trailer pulled behind a motorcycle with their brake systems. Since they were the only manufacturer who offered electric brakes, and would not assume any liability with respect to their brakes behind a motorcycle, a problem had arisen. Therefore, since both the axle manufacturer, and B&F Specialties, would no longer assume liability for those systems behind a motorcycle either, B&F Specialties has chosen to use an alternative system. We have tested and used this new system with the safety of our customers in mind. The "new" brake system we are using is an ELECTRIC/HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKE SYSTEM, not an electric or a hydraulic surge system. We feel this is also a more positive system, no magnets to replace, and a system that has worked for years in other auto and trailer systems. The system consists of hydraulic brake units such as those on an auto, and a hydraulic pump mounted in the rear of the trailer. Applying the brakes on the motorcycle activate the unit. A pressure-regulated pump with a valve, that is adjustable, controls the amount of brake applied. Simply load your trailer as always, adjust the pressure, and you're ready to go. Assuming that you regularly load your trailer the same, no further adjustments should be necessary. If however, you feel that your load is significantly lower or higher, simply adjust very slightly to apply more or less pressure to the brakes. We understand this system is costly, but you should and must understand, that it is more reliable, positive, and a safer system for behind a motorcycle. This system is designed to stop the trailer from pushing the motorcycle, not to stop the trailer or bike/trailer combination. If you should have any question please feel free to call us and we will be happy to answer any further questions you may have. |
